This Memorial Day, Indivisible NOVA West’s Organizing Director and Army veteran, Luke Lorenz, put his boots on the ground to raise operating funds for INW. He walked along the Potomac and visited memorials along his route. He created a video diary to share with you. See how this walk inspired him to keep fighting for democracy.
Here at INW, we are working super hard to activate a bunch of initiatives for our membership. The Steering Committee puts in many hours each week to get protests, rallies, election activities, and advocacy teams organized, resourced, and launched, but we need funds to help support these efforts.
As a 100% volunteer, self-funded organization, INW is crowd-funded by the people who believe in our mission to stand up for democracy and against the cruel agenda of the Trump administration.

He walked 10 miles along the Mt. Vernon Trail, ending his trek at the Lincoln Memorial where these inspiring words from Gettysburg Address are permanently etched in the wall of the south chamber, reminding us of our eternal responsibility to the fallen to protect ideals of the country they fought and died for:
“It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us, that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion, that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
In honor of Memorial Day, we will also be donating 20% of the funds raised to our one of INW’s closest allies, Common Defense, America’s largest grassroots organization of progressive veterans.
INW’s donation to them will help support the critical work they are doing in the fight against the Trump administration’s cruel and shameful cuts to the Veterans Administration staff and budget.
