ADVOCACY BANDWAGON LAUNCHES: "Feed our Friends and Neighbors" Initiative!
INW depends on our members to guide us on issues. Help us help you develop and implement action plans.
The Advocacy Bandwagon is where our determination to drive change and our commitment to serving our community come together.
We can have as many subgroups as we want to create!
“Advocacy is empathy, compassion and community at work.”

CALL TO ACTION!
We all know we need a sustainable approach to helping our local food pantries keep shelves stocked. Event-based food drives are great, but they’re a lot of work and the food runs out quickly. Therefore, we are launching the INW Feed Our Friends and Neighbors initiative. (Giving credit where due, this is modeled on an effort organized by our Red, Wine, and Blue “Childless Cat Ladies” friends in Fairfax. So, thanks to our awesome resistance allies for the great concept!)
joining rapid response teams
hosting or assisting Know Your Rights events
distributing educational materials
supporting legislation that benefits specific communities at the state and federal levels
coordinating food drives and clothing drives
building coalitions with local businesses and faith-based organizations
Advocacy Shout Outs!
Our Immigration sub-bandwagon is our most active Advocacy community.
The Immigration team is educating Northern Virginia residents about their rights under the law, coordinating with immigrants’ rights groups to organize rapid response teams, supporting local immigrant-owned businesses, and providing direct support to immigrant families in need through food drives and other actions.
Our Environment sub-bandwagon is growing rapidly and needs your help!
Together, we are creating a Virginia that nurtures human health and wellness, respects the biodiversity of life, and diversifies Virginia’s energy mix, while providing access to clean, renewable, and affordable energy to all Virginians. We’re building a community of people people like you - who are ready and willing to take action(s) on behalf of nature.
